This craft certificate is a competency-based course designed to equip the trainees with Knowledge, practical skills and attitude to work in the tourism industry. The trainees will apply the acquired skills in the running of the tourism activities. In addition, the course will enable the trainee to utilize available market to exploit the domestic market. In the course of the training the trainee will acquire general knowledge and entrepreneurships skills to enable him/her to run a tour guide establishment develop and market tourism products and go into self-employment which will contribute positively to the national economy.

It is packaged into two modules namely: –

- Tour administration
General Objectives of the Course
At the end of this course the trainees should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the tourism sector and its development in East Africa.
- Apply communications skills in tourism
- Apply the principles of ICT in tourism
- Apply research techniques in reporting and information’s gathering
- Develop and manage touristic sites in East Africa
- Manage ecotourism sites in east Africa
- Create awareness about tourism, its resources and its contributions to national economy

KCSE D+ or its equivalent or D- with at least 3 years working experience in relevant field or any other qualifications recognized by WRTI Academic Board
